[Tips] Create UFD become DOS bootable

Computer Hardware & Software, Tips & trick, by brigs.

DOS or Disk Operating System is not so popular like windows based program GUI today. However some hardware geeks still using it to flash rom to BIOS for update utility. There is no harm anyway for you to know about that, i remember that the first time i used personal computer on dos mode in x8088 processor era. Here a simple tips from me to make your UFD to become bootable.

1. Download and install first UFD formatter like HP USB Disk storage format, it’s okey to using it for any modern UFD that support bootable disk.

2. You can grab MS-DOS Win 98 image here, extract dan save to your desktop.

3. Open UFD Formatter, click USB device you will using it, choose FAT/FAT32  and then click  “create a DOS startup disk” within path to  MS-DOS Win 98 folder.

Done, you have a UFD bootable DOS rightnow.. if you like too you can copy all MS DOS Win 98 folder to your UFD. It’s very simpe that i make some script menu for CD-ROM support, memtest 86 and Norton Commander.
